Brass Fish Server Handle

Carved brass fish slice or server from the early 19th century. This is an excellent demonstration of lost wax process an old traditional technique used by the local artisans. It is ornate and finely detailed on the front. A lovely handcrafted piece in the shape of a stylized carp. Handle is richly decorated. Every small detail on the fish is still sharp, including the nose and mouth area, which is normally worn - the corners of the fins are still sharp.
