The vintage brass container is supported by a round base and is shaped by four stars joined point to point horizontally. This narrows at the top of the upper pipe-like portion that is used to sprinkle the liquid filled in it. The pipe-like section is divided into five sections, each becoming narrower as it rises. The last one has a cap-like nozzle with a couple of holes at the end. India has a tradition of treating visitors as if they were Gods. On special occasions, they have a variety of ways to greet guests. This container is used to fill the lower, wider portion with aromatic liquid (typically rose water). The fragrant liquid that passes through the nozzle in small amounts is sprinkled on the guests.
