This portrays the goddess Bharavi. Bhairavi, a name with broad applications and connotations in the Tantric tradition, is one of the most significant deities in the Mahavidy pantheon. Goddess Bhairavi, a manifestation of goddess Shakti, is a well-liked figure in tantric practice and in rural Hindu culture. She is thought to live in the underworld (Patal). She is one of the fiercest manifestations of Goddess Shakti and is compared to Lord Shiva in his Kal Bhairava form. Shubmkari, Good Mother to Good People, is another name for her.
