Kalighat Painting Of Krishna killing Vakasura

A Kalighat painting of Krishna in the act of splitting the long beak of Bakasura, the heron demon, is depicted in paint on paper with tin alloy details. Krishna is seen to have blue complexion, large eyes, and to be wearing a short "dhoti" with a cape draped over his shoulder. His forehead is inscribed with the Vaishnavite symbols, and he wears the traditional peacock feather tiara.
