A hand cymbal, also known as a manjeera, is a traditional Indian hand percussion instrument. Manger, tala, jalra, khartal, and kartal are other names for it. Manjeera is an important instrument in Indian folk music. Manjeera is primarily used in the aarti of Indian Goddesses and deities for devotional music. In Tibetan, manjeera is known as tingsha, which is a diminutive of manjeera. Tibetan Buddhist practitioners use these cymbals in prayer and rituals. A leather strap or cotton cord connects two cymbals together. Use it yourself or gift it to your family and friends.
