The composition of this Thangka painting revolves on Bhaisajyaguru, the supreme healer, offering a myrobalan fruit in his extended right palm, commissioned for the benefits of good health. Manjushri stands on either side of him, with smaller depictions of Akshobhya, Shakyamuni, and a second Bhaisajyaguru above him. Prajnaparamita, Vasudhara, and Sarasvati are seated on clouds at the bottom, surrounded by Tibetan Buddhism's eight auspicious symbols (ashtamangala).
